Five Major Roles of Human Resource in An Organization

Small organizations often have limited workforce to carry out business operations. But managing a small set of people is one of the most essential and crucial elements of a business. Thus, to ensure better productivity, companies should deliver better performance.

HRM is all about efficiently acquiring services for employees. HR managers help employees in developing their skills, motivating them, and making sure that they will continue to maintain their responsibilities.

In short, Human Resource department walks with the employees throughout their journey i.e from recruitment until retirement.

Although there are many functions of the human resource department, I am focusing on a few significant tasks.

1.Recruitment and Selection: HR managers should aim towards hiring quality candidates who can bring productivity and new ideas. Look for candidates who can bring a change in the company and take it to new heights. The focus should be on the development and execution of HR processes. With the introduction of automation, various AI tools can be used to speed up the recruitment process. A resume parsing tool can be used to choose the right candidate. It makes things easy by filtering out relevant information from the candidate's resume and saves in your ATS/CRM. Both recruiters and candidates are benefited from this tool. These technology innovations help in closing jobs fast and speed up hiring.

2. Orientation for Candidates: It is a fundamental step to help new employees adjust themselves with the employer. The employee orientation program should include the goals and objectives of the organization and how the employee can help the organization to achieve long-term and short-term goals.

A smooth transition into a new role will benefit both the new employees and the employer. Communicating responsibilities and expectations to a new employee will also reduce the communication gap.

3. Training and Development: One of the essential responsibilities of HR is to ensure that employees receive proper training (whether from in-house or off-site) to perform their jobs efficiently. Thus, employees will be able to help in achieving the company goals and objectives. Encouraging employees to take advantage of training and development programs will boost up the morale of employees. It will also help in improving their learning skills to get benefited for the future. HR Specialist also assists with change management and performance management needs of the organization.

4. Employee Relations: Employees are the pillars of an organization. Employee relationship is an essential concept, and it is one of the critical functions of human resource management. It also helps in reducing the communication gaps between the teammates and provides a healthy atmosphere to work. Management should conduct such activities in an organization which will help you know your teammates on a personal and professional level. A well-planned employee relation will help an organization to develop a cordial relationship between the colleagues and the right work environment for future employees.

5. Risk Management: HR Management is also proactive in detecting the risk

which can cause threats to the company policies. Taking precautions and providing a safe work environment for employees is a vital role of HR. Handling employee's handbook and educating them is a part of the responsibilities of HR Management.

Don't you feel that HR managers act as an advocate for the employees? They are also the continuous support of employees, part of any planning and development of an organization for the incredible growth of the business.
